Every two years, the World Alliance of Cities Against Poverty organises global forums that bring together elected city representatives and municipal employees, city associations, governments, NGOs, private companies, academia, and United Nations organisations. These forums offer a framework to establish contacts, exchange experiences and information, promote city-to-city cooperation, develop partnerships, and raise funds for specific initiatives.
Forum activities include discussions on best practices, thematic workshops, sponsored exhibits and visits to social projects. Most conference attendees are high level decision makers who are in a position to implement new programmes or approaches to poverty alleviation in their home cities.
